Dr. Benny Weksler has two board certifications, one in surgery and the other in thoracic surgery. He practices at Methodist Healthcare in Memphis, TN and specializes in the practice of minimally invasive esophagectomies, minimally invasive surgeries pertaining to lung cancer, robotic surgery, incisionless surgery, and endoluminal interventions.
Dr. Weksler completed his medical studies at the Federal University of Rio De Janeiro and went on to complete a residency at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Center, an affiliate of New York Medical College located in the Bronx, NY. Following his residency, he attended two fellowships. The first of his fellowships was at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and completed the second at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Weksler currently serves as the Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Methodist Healthcare and also serves as a Professor of Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Weksler boasts an impressive track record as having receieved the Castle-Connolly America's Top Doctor from 2008 until 2012 and was was also named a U.S. News and World Report Top Doctor three years in a row.
