Dr. Sophie Bartsich is a Board Certified plastic surgeon and an expert in cosmetic surgery of the breast and body.' She has a unique understanding of each patient's individual needs and personal aesthetic,'and is widely reviewed as a master of customizing results in both male and female patients.
Sophie Bartsich was born and raised in New York City. She was educated in the French school system at the Lyc_e Fran'ais de New York, and completed the French Baccalaur_at degree in biology. She then earned an undergraduate degree in psychology at Cornell University, with a focus on behavior and interpersonal relationships, and a growing interest in the arts. Compelled to more formally pursue her interest in design, she completed a graduate degree at the world renowned Parsons School of Design while working at the fashion house of Calvin Klein. Over a period of several years, she lived abroad in countries such as Italy, Spain, and Australia, studying foreign language, art, and architecture.
Upon her return to New York, Dr. Bartsich returned to her first love of medicine, completing her premedical studies at Columbia University and her medical degree at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. She was accepted into the independent program in Plastic Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she trained at a wide range of top ranked academic institutions in Manhattan. In 2010, Dr. Bartsich was awarded a research grant to pursue studies in implant-based breast surgery. This research won two awards at the national Aesthetic Meeting in 2011, and ultimately became the basis of her current academic endeavors.
The product of a multi-cultural background, Dr. Bartsich has a long history of studying and working with international communities. She has strong ties to the French community in particular, including French speaking countries in Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean Islands. She is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York Presbyterian Hospital Medical center, where she trains medical students and residents on a regular basis.
