Dr. Michael Maynard is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of sports medicine injuries and is pioneering the advancement of modern arthroscopic techniques for shoulder, knee, and hip disorders. Dr. Maynard received his B.A. from the United States Naval Academy and completed his medical degree at the Cornell University Medical Center. Following the completion of his medical degree, Dr. Maynard accepted an orthopedic residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Impressively, Dr. Maynard was accepted into a highly competitive fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York for 'Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery.
Dr. Michael Maynard is currently Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Cornell University Medical College. He is passionate about teaching residents and medical students and constantly stays up-to-date with the latest medical innovations and research. He is a lifelong learner. Dr. Maynard's self acclaimed special interests are sports medicine and biomechanics laboratory. Dr. Maynard uses a combination of traditional surgical techniques and biomechanics laboratory assisted techniques to create a truly unique approach to surgery.
Dr. Maynard has impressively received honors and awards from the following institutions: O'Donoghue Award for Excellence in Sports Medicine Research, given by the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine; Elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society; Executive Certificate in Healthcare Delivery, Cornell University; and Leadership Development Program, Northwestern. Dr. Maynard is a top orthopedic surgeon.
